Being a Claddagh Boatman means joining a line of craftsmen, teachers, sailors, and friends. We welcome volunteers and members from every background those who know the call of the sea or simply wish to support and connect with Galway’s story.

Ways to Get Involved

  • Help rebuild and repair Galway Hookers using traditional methods in our workshop.

  • Race or crew in summer regattas and local festivals, participating in historic races like “Cruinniú na mBád” and the Claddagh Traditional Boat Festival

  • Share heritage with local schools, run tours, and provide talks passing maritime traditions to the next generation.

  • Support festivals, art exhibitions, and fundraising initiatives vital to restoration projects.
